Organic

We've gone largely organic in our household, it adds a lot of cost to the monthly food budget, but at the same time, you can just tell that a lot of the food is better. Better taste, looks better, etc. Plus you know it doesn't have nearly as many chemicals and other junk on it. The funny thing is, I'm more committed to organic stuff for my kids and I am for myself. I am still an occasional consumer of Hostess ho-ho's.

The article in NYT about organic stuff really caught my eye.

What are some things that you are doing to make your life less chemical/preservative-y?

Organic is good, but there is still a lot of mis-labeling, and in some cases down-right misleading. We try foods and by being very very sensitive to our bodies' reactions, determine what is good for us and what is not.

We use an abundance of enzymes; I personally take 6-8 capsules per meal. My body responds particularly well to the products from the Garden of Life, all of which are produced from raw, organically grown vegetable products.

The most important thing I have done in the past 12 months is to go RAW -- but not totally. I would say my diet is between 60% and 80% raw. THIS has made the biggest difference of everything I have tried. I feel lighter, sharper, more alive and less weighed down. The combination of Raw and Enzymes works particularly well for me.

Hope you find this useful.
